“I don’t know very much about flowers”
I hear it all the time. And the truth is that why should we?
It’s something my mother always used to lament as someone who had a great appreciation and love for flowers and nature. I’d always remember her saying with a sigh, “What are they teaching you in school? Back home, by the time we were in grade school we knew all the names of flowers.”
I think that while we are starting to see a slow return to things that are organic, natural and of the earth, the process of beginning deciding on what the wedding flowers should be can seem like an daunting task.
The simplest way is to let your eyes and heart be the judge. What you don’t like the look of is just as important as what you think you like.
Start with things like your favourite colour and a picture you saw that inspired you.
From there, an experienced wedding florist will be able to guide you to options for flowers and colour combinations.
It shouldn’t be complicated and can be fun and enjoyable process.
