How to choose your Wedding Flowers (Wedding Flowers Mississauga, Wedding Flowers Oshawa)

Top 5 tips for wedding flowers from a wedding florist serving Mississauga and Oshawa brides

1. Go for colour first
It’s the first thing that people see. It’s not necessarily the flowers unless they happen to be knowledgeable. Whites and neutrals are forever classic for a timeless wedding, while bold reds may be appropriate for the traditional asian wedding or for the bolder couple looking to make a modern statement.

2. Think about your wedding style
I always ask my clients, what are 2-3 descriptive words to describe the look and feel of your wedding flowers in Mississauga or Oshawa. For some it’s romantic, for others it’s fun and whimsical.

3. Give some thought to budget
There’s two ways to look at. It will either expand or constrain your options. Your vision regardless of what it is will fall within a certain range for cost. If you’re wanting a simple backyard wedding and you want your flowers to reflect that then, you’re spend may possibly be less. However, on the flipside, if you’re having 300 guests and you’re wanting tall full arrangements, that will also have it’s own range of cost.

4. Which wedding flowers are important to you?
The answer can be everything, but if that isn’t the answer, then think about what’s most important to you. It might even be helpful to make a list. Write everhting out and then start putting them into order, from most important to least. This is also a list to consider within the context of just your flowers. It would be that the centerpieces are most important and the ceremony arrangements are least. Your list will be different.

5. Collect inspiration images
With the internet, there’s no shortage of the many ways to look for wedding flower inspirations. Pinterest, google images, instagram, the knot to name just a few. Keep it fun and collect a few images that you love. Don’t censor or overthink this process. Keep it light and fun.

6. Rely on your chosen vendor
Once you’ve found someone to help you with your wedding flowers that you will is a good fit for you rely on them for their experience. Some have spent many years becoming familiar with what works best and it’s always a good idea to draw on that. The availability and seasonality of flowers is a complex and ever changing thing. Also, with creative experience your designer will be able to give you good guidance about colour palette and other options that you may not have thought of.
