I received a very special phone call a few weeks ago from my friend Carmen whose wedding I created the flowers for a few years ago when she got married to her now husband John.

Her mother had passed away several years ago and her father was going to remarry and she wanted to know if I would be available to make the flowers on such short notice for a small and intimate wedding.

“Of course!”

It’s got to be a record. I don’t remember having to put in all together with just two weeks notice, but it all came together.

I’m normally used to sitting down with my clients and getting a good idea of their vision for the wedding and here I was with little to go on except vague preferences for flowers and colour.

Red and fuschia roses with deep purple orchids were the flowers and colours I decided to set for the wedding.

The bridal bouquet was created in a sheath style with the roses clustered at the base. The starburst design set the stage for the ceremony and the centrepieces completed the look in ribbon accented square.
