Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011

Maggie and Jeremy’s winter wedding at Graydon Hall this past weekend was truly lovely.

The evening began with a ceremony in the chapel under a traditional Jewish chuppah

and celebrations took place afterward in the dining hall filled with floral encircled lanterns to greet the guests at their tables.

Looking Forward To The Spring

Wednesday, December 8th, 2010

It’s gonna be a long winter.

Sub-zero…it feels like it’s been this way for months and it’s only the beginning.

The trees and flowers have closed up shop for the year with the only decoration being the snow that’s on the ground.

But contrary to popular thinking spring flowers can be found now. Grown with love in greenhouses. You can bring spring indoors 5 months ahead of schedule.

Seems like just yesterday, when wedding season was just beginning and the beautiful flowers of the spring were in their prime.

It’s still one of a client’s all time favourite flowers. And when I’m preparing for a wedding that’s using them as the primary flower it’s looks like a ocean of puffy clouds.

Full and voluminous spheres of tiny blooms perfect to be used on their own or in combination with other flowers. It’s especially stunning in an imported designer shade of amethyst.

“Someday My Prince Will Come.”

I always feel privileged to hear of the many ways that the proposal takes place.  It may be words never really uttered, but that knowing from the beginning to something as formal and planned as a trip to a romantic destination.

These beautiful glass slippers dangling from Victoria’s bouquet were meant as reminder of a beautiful proposal at the most magical place on earth…Disney.  It was complete with a dinner at the Cinderella’s castle and a proposal on bended knee.

Susan and Peter’s wedding at the Rosewater last month was a great opportunity for me to combine asian and greek sensibilities into something that was truly reflective of the lovely couple who I believe are backpacking through Africa for the honeymoon.

Having created many a bouquet this season, I am convinced time and time again that each bouquet is meant for the bride who carries it on her wedding day.

If someone had told me that when I started I would have doubted the thought, but I know it to be absolutely true.

This bouquet of exquisite ivory and light amethyst floral was create for Fiona’s marriage to Alfred at Casa Loma.

I’ll show you the rest of the pictures from the castle one I’ve sorted them out.

An Elegant Garden Wedding

Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

Sometimes I can’t help but feel that everything in life and in business always works out the way it’s supposed to.

When I met Judith and Adam, it was only one month until their wedding. There wasn’t any mishap with another vendor or any other drama to speak of, they were just getting to the flowers and I understood why.

It was going to be in their brother’s backyard. Tented, catered, simple but elegant.

A lovely garden wedding and that it was. Classic garden chairs, crisp white linens and amethyst and pale yellow flowers to complement the lilac napkins.
