They’re baaaaccck!

Oh, it seemed just like yesterday when I was writing just before the winter and writing about the peonies we could look forward to in the spring.

They are perfect and a luxury for sure. Especially now, since you’ll only find them coming over the big blue ocean from flower growers extraordinarie – The Dutch.

Doesn’t matter how you use them. On their own in a massive cluster of luxury or a single lush bloom in a vase.

They are a heavenly choice for any wedding taking place in the spring.

With the peony season coming rapidly to an end, I thought I would tease all you late spring early summer brides of the following year of what you have to look forward to.

Whether tied together on their own or mixed with roses or any other flower that might suit your fancy, the peony is perfect.

Warning: If You Love Peonies

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

I thought I’d continued on the subject I started last week about seasonal flowers.

So far this season, the bloom that seems to be the favourite flower of choice among brides-to-be is the peony.

There’s only one problem. Well, it’s a problem if you are not getting married right about now and so consequently I have had to break a lot and I mean a lot of bad news.

For brides getting married between the months from July to March, peonies are not going to be available save for a few unexpected pockets here and there, but they could never be guaranteed.

They are absolutely gorgeous it’s true, but they’re also only available for a limited time only.

Plan on getting married between late April and Mid June. It’ll greatly increase your chances of getting this flowers.

So if you really love this flowers you’ll have to risk getting married when the weather will probably be unpredictable, but you’ll have the flowers you love.

The Peony

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

Most of my time in the early months of a year is spent meeting with couples who are planning their nuptials for either later in the year or early next.

When I started thinking about ideas for this post, I thought about the questions that are most frequently asked of me and one of the most commonly asked questions is one of seasonality.

While not knowing one’s flowers might just be an occasional inconvenience when you’re wanting to place an order for a bouquet to be delivered, it’s a puzzling impairment when a bride-to-be is trying to figure out what kind of flowers she likes and then has no idea whether she can get what she has just clipped from the magazine.

Every wedding season brings with favourite blooms and one of them is the peony.

Loved for the large luscious blooms that come in varying shades of white, cream, pink, hot pink and reds. It is a favourite among those getting married.

However, its season of availability is very limited. While typically classified as a late spring, early summer flower, it’s dependent on the weather as it is grown outdoors and once the rains come, the season is done.

For those who are heart set of this flowers, imported options are available and the costs with imported rise as well.
