Light And Airy Autumn Inspiration

Wednesday, November 2nd, 2011

“Can you do deep tones in the spring and light fresh tones in the fall?”

It’s a question I get all the time.  It’s also a question that gets many a bride confused when beginning the planning for her wedding flowers and for the overall visual look of the wedding.

Those of you who have been reading my blog for any length of time would know what my answer to this question would be.

The answer is yes if it speaks to you and if it’s the one that makes you feel happy inside when you imagine all the flowers in that colour.

Hilde’s colour scheme and hence her flowers are such an example. The fall dahlia put together in a fresh and dainty for her fall wedding. It’s all good, because it’s what made her happy and that’s what most important.

Glorious Fall Bouquet

It’s official that strange, but welcomed warm spell that felt like summer has given way to cool temperatures and the glorious turning of the leaves.

In honour of this seasonally glory, I wanted to share a burnt harvest orange bouquet I create for Sabrina for her lovely fall wedding to Nolan.

Dazzling Dahlias In The Evening

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

With the dahlia season still going strong for the next few weeks, I wanted to share some more images from Erin and Kevin’s wedding.

Stunning centerpieces to continue the theme of burnt orange and lime green and the look was completed with a shimmering candlescape at the sweetheart table.

Dazzling Dahlias For A Late Summer Wedding

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

I have a prediction.

After peonies, the next flower to garner the favour of brides will be … the dahlia.

For those of you who have yet to be introduced to this seasonal gem, they are to be found in the early summer to the middle of fall and they are absolutely gorgeous.

A few weeks I had the pleasure of using this beautiful bloom as the focal flower for Erin and Kevin’s wedding at the stunning Vaughan Estate at the Estates of Sunnbrook.

This glorious combination of stunning orange dahlias and lime green spider mums, poms and berries was carried thoughout the entire wedding from bouquets, to ceremony arrangements.

The look was completed with matching centerpieces and a stunning candlescape for their sweetheart table which I’ll share in next week’s post.
