Spring has arrived!

Wednesday, March 28th, 2012

Spring is one of my favourite times of year and it’s not so much because the weather, but more because it means the arrival of nature’s most delicate and beautiful blooms.

Jessica’s bouquet was created with roses, hyacinths and stunning stephanotis accents to complement her blue and Classic Cream wedding.

The reception was complete with the fullness of fresh blue hydrangea and elegant roses.

Winter Ice Blue

Wednesday, December 14th, 2011

Blue flowers…what can I say? There aren’t alot of them, unless you start colouring them and don’t get me started on that.

I’m from the school of thought that if Mother Nature doesn’t make them that way then short of a very natural tint, it’s best to stay away. The flowers don’t much care for the process either.

The colour itself as part of a wedding colour theme is ever popular from shades of midnight blue to ice blue and everywhere in between.

One of the flowers that does come in lovely delicate shade of a pale blue is the hydrangea.  It’s a beautiful compliment to any colour, but most especially with a crisp white for a lovely winter theme.

Something Blue

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

Last month, I had the pleasure to bringing together a powder blue and chocolate brown colour theme for Janet and Michael.

The blues were brought in through a combination of sky blue hydrangeas and ribbon accents and chocolate brown in luxurious satin linens that were complemented elegantly with ivory toned satin chair covers.

This colour theme was an classic backdrop that began with the ceremony at the The Annunication of the Virgin Mary Church on Sorauren and a festivities that took place at The West River Event Centre.
