Mother Nature’s Most Famous Spring Flower

Wednesday, April 25th, 2012

What’s the first flower that comes to mind when you think of spring? Well, for many, it’s the tulip.

For Shelley’s April wedding to Anthony, these beautiful blooms were combined with another year round favour for a clean fresh spring bouquet.

Sweet Pink Candy Centerpieces| Floret.ca

There are so many things to love about what I get to do, but I must say that this project was one of my sweeter opportunities.

My amazing client Ashley whose wedding flowers I had the pleasure of creating two years ago this June is a major force at Benefit Cosmetics called me to create florals that would be reflective of the Candy Pink Launch for their new line of cosmetics. Lollipops and Candy were the inspirations of force.

It’s a perfect way to celebrate a bridal shower for a sweet treat theme!

Spring has arrived!

Wednesday, March 28th, 2012

Spring is one of my favourite times of year and it’s not so much because the weather, but more because it means the arrival of nature’s most delicate and beautiful blooms.

Jessica’s bouquet was created with roses, hyacinths and stunning stephanotis accents to complement her blue and Classic Cream wedding.

We’re featured in Wedluxe

Friday, March 16th, 2012

Earlier this week, I received a lovely note from my client Rana, whose beautiful wedding last September, I still have yet to feature.

I’m having trouble picking from my photos, but I’m getting close.

She was writing to let me know that she had been on the blog at Wedluxe and saw flowers featured that she knew were mine before she even saw the credits. How cool is that!

I went to their post on March 12 and sure enough Lesley and Renato’s wedding that I wrote about in my blog on June 8 last year was featured.

You can see my original post here: http://floret.ca/blog/glamourous-elegance-at-the-thompson-hotel/

A few days after that I received an email from Lesley to let me know about the feature along with the wonderful news that she and Renato are expecting their first baby in the summer!

It’s a wonderful reminder that a beautiful wedding is only the beginning of a beautiful life together!

Luxe Bouquet | Floret.ca

It’s a word used much these days “luxe”.

Flowers so premium that it’s uncommon to see them.  I think that there would be few to question that the combination of the flowers found in Laura’s bouquet for her early March wedding could be considered anything other than of the purest luxury.

The unbelievable scent of the gardenias would make this fact indisputable.

Winter Ice Blue

Wednesday, December 14th, 2011

Blue flowers…what can I say? There aren’t alot of them, unless you start colouring them and don’t get me started on that.

I’m from the school of thought that if Mother Nature doesn’t make them that way then short of a very natural tint, it’s best to stay away. The flowers don’t much care for the process either.

The colour itself as part of a wedding colour theme is ever popular from shades of midnight blue to ice blue and everywhere in between.

One of the flowers that does come in lovely delicate shade of a pale blue is the hydrangea.  It’s a beautiful compliment to any colour, but most especially with a crisp white for a lovely winter theme.

Ravishing Red

Wednesday, December 7th, 2011

I always find myself saying that colour is everything, even above the flowers themselves.

It sets the tone whether the flowers are ultimately carnations or tropical orchids.

Weddings in the fall and winter are a great time to take advantage the colour has to offer.

White can enhance the crispness of the season or you can change things up entirely and choose to heat things up with red.

Whether it’s a simple bouquet to set the tone or room full of this vibrant colour, it’s always one that can be relied upon for making a stylish statement.

Sunshine For A Fall Wedding

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011

Ohh….nothing like the colour of yellow.

So sunny and bright especially when the days are overcast and somewhat dreary.

These warm golden centerpieces at Karen and David’s fall wedding at the Pearl Restaurant at Harbourfront were the focal point of every guest table.

Gerberas and roses in the colour of the sun are a perfect choice to greet your guests.

Birds Of A Feather

Wednesday, October 26th, 2011

Birds of a feather flock together. We’ve all heard the phrase.

I’m so proud to say that I have the pleasure of being in the company of some really cool clients!

Open to new ideas and little twists to make their flowers and honest reflection of their style on their day.

Coming on a referral from her best friend April whose wedding flowers I designed over three years ago, Elyse and Rusell were such a couple.

The selection of personal flowers really said it all. Delicate white feature accents for her bridal bouquet and baby succelents for his boutonnieres.
