Purple Rose Cabbage Wedding Bouquet | Floret.ca

Purple Rose Cabbage Wedding Bouquet | Floret.ca

I noticed that it’s been a while since I featured my bouquets.

One of the many really great things about working with flowers is that the possibilities of how they can be arranged, combined and presented is literally endless.

While this might be a scary thought for some, experience (and a lot of it) has taught me that it keeps things fresh and unique.

One such example is a super really fun bouquet that I had the chance to create for Emelyne, who choose me to be her florist all the way from San Francisco.

It all began with an inspiration picture that had of all things in it - purple cabbage!

Mauve and purples combined with texture of leaves and berries…can I say this was fun?

Where Did The Time Go?

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

It’s easy to forget milestones especially when life can be so busy, but a few weeks ago, I realized that I was coming up to an anniversary that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Fifty two weeks ago, I started this little weekly blog in the hopes that I could make the process of planning the wedding flowers (which I naturally think is the best part) a little easier and fun and at that same being able to share in real time (or almost) some of my work that is 100% inspired my clients.

I’ve always considered all firsts particularly special whether they be first birthdays, first clients or first bouquets.

So I wanted to take a moment to thank those who have taken the time to visit and making the weeks that made up this first year so worthwhile.

Colour Trends For 2010 Weddings

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009

I know that it’s a little early to be making predictions about an upcoming year.

People usually starting making them in December or so, but I thought I’d give you a little glimpse into what I’m seeing in my clients who are getting married next year.

2009 was a year full of colour. From baby pink to deep purples and everywhere in between, but so far it looks like 2010 might bring the total opposite.

From clean and crisp whites to creamy ivories, the classic elegance of netural so far seems to be the choice of many of the discerning brides that I have had the opportunity to meet.

Kind of neat. Never a dull moment and that’s the way I like it.

“Do You Offer Chuppahs?”

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

As complete as I try to keep the information on my website, I still get asked about the services that I offer so I’ve decided that every once in a while, I will bump up a post that I’ll create that will offer a comprehensive list of services.

One of the questions that I get asked frequently is “Do You Do Chuppahs?”

And the answer is “Yes!”

It falls within the two realms of requirements for ceremony and decor and is certainly a symbolic focal point for those who are of Jewish faith and heritage.

It’s really quite a lovely idea as it symbolizes the home that the couple will build together.

Also, as much as it serves a very symbolic importance, its appearance these days can vary as much as the personalities of the couples getting married.  Aside from the four poles and the covering that connects them together, the choice of colours and materials is endless.
